Turkey Aluminum Anodizing Wastewater Treatment Case for Faster Clarification and Stable Discharge Quality

Bluwat Chemicals developed a customized wastewater treatment solution for a client in Turkey’s metal finishing industry, helping improve color removal, floc formation, sedimentation speed, and treated water clarity.

Project Background

A client from Turkey’s aluminum anodizing industry contacted Bluwat Chemicals for a wastewater treatment solution. The wastewater came from a metal finishing process and showed strong color, fine suspended solids, and unstable clarification behavior.

The customer had already tried a traditional PAC and PAM treatment approach, but the overall treatment performance was still not sufficient to meet the required discharge clarity standard.

Treatment Challenges

Dark colored oxidation wastewater
Fine suspended solids difficult to settle
Poor performance with traditional PAC and PAM treatment
Effluent not meeting discharge clarity requirements

Existing Problems

Before optimization, the treatment system showed several operational problems that affected sedimentation efficiency and final water quality.

Bluwat Customized Solution

Based on laboratory testing of the client’s wastewater sample, Bluwat Chemicals designed a four step treatment process to improve color removal, coagulation efficiency, and sedimentation performance.

Step 1 Water Decoloring Agent

Rapidly removes color and helps break down organic pollutants in the wastewater.

Step 2 Ferric Sulphate

Enhances coagulation performance and helps aggregate fine suspended particles.

Step 3 pH Adjustment to 7 to 8

Optimizes chemical reaction conditions for improved treatment efficiency.

Step 4 Polyacrylamide PAM

Forms large and dense flocs to accelerate sedimentation and improve solid liquid separation.

Test Results

After applying the optimized treatment solution, the wastewater showed a clear improvement in both clarification speed and final water appearance.

Large flocs formed within seconds
Suspended solids settled rapidly
Upper water layer became clear
Sludge compacted at the bottom

The full process is demonstrated in the laboratory test video, showing a visible transition from dark wastewater to clear treated water.
